The Theater Enthusiast

When I was seven years old my mother took me to the theater for the first time. We saw Anna Maria Alberghetti in Carnival. I was transported. Bu everything; 44th and 45th Streets, the theater with its red velvet seats, an impossibly grand gold curtain, the show! Come on, the show! I couldn't believe it what I was seeing, that this was happening only a few miles away from my house. That night, I lay awake with thinking that the show was going to go on again tomorrow night, eight times a week, and I won't be there. I've been there every time I possibly can ever since.
